I am an engineer and a patent attorney, and my presentation would be on: Can a Computer Model Be Patented? It turns out that several companies and individuals, including major industry leaders, have filed patent applications for computer models, particularly in the area of control systems (see, e.g., http://www.patentgenius.com/patent/7689393.html), project management simulations (http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20090319323), and even for modeling pathologies (http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20090070088).
